Liturgical Opportunities

Members of the parish play a vital role in its worship.  Whether you are interested in overall planning or planning for the special liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent, we welcome your input.

Worship Planning Commission

The Worship Commission is responsible for setting goals, directions, and standards for the overall liturgical life of the parish. Its purpose is to see that the spiritual needs of the parish are met. It is their responsibility to evaluate the environment, music, worship space, acoustics, the celebration of Mass and the sacraments.

Litugical Planning Commission

The Liturgy Planning Group works in cooperation with the pastor, musicians, and liturgical ministers to orchestrate various forms of worship. They plan the celebration of the Mass, Communion Services, and also other prayer services for the spiritual life of the parish

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the Word of God at the liturgy to elicit a faith filled response. Anyone of high school age or older is welcome to serve in this ministry.  Contact Victor Fabro by email at vpfcinci@aol.com if you are interested in being a lector.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion to fellow parishioners at Mass and/or as members of the Visitation Ministry. Instruction in proper procedure is provided. To assist in this ministry, contact Victor Fabro by email at vpfcinci@aol.com.

Servers

Servers have a special role in our worship community to assist and enhance our praise at Mass and at sacramental celebrations. Servers are needed for Masses, weddings, funerals and other special occasions. Women, men, girls and boys are all welcome to serve. Training will be scheduled as needed. Contact the Parish Office at 921-7527.

Ushers

The ushers assist with the Sunday liturgy in greeting visitors, facilitating seating when necessary and taking up the collection. Frequently the head usher will assist in counting the offerings. Both men and women are invited to join this ministry.

If you would like information about any of these ministries, please contact Sister Lois Goettke at the Parish Office and (513) 921-7527 x112.

Liturgical Preparation Opportunities

Sunday Mass Coordinator

The Sunday Mass Coordinators organize the details surrounding our weekend liturgies: 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. They are responsible for the preparation of the unconsecrated Bread & Wine, placement of cups, patens and linens, monitoring the attendance of distributors, lectors and servers, and substituting when necessary. Each Mass has its own distinctive requirements. Contact the parish office at 921-7527 for more information.

Funeral Mass Sacristan

The Funeral Mass is a very detailed Mass requiring many unique features. Besides being responsible for the preparation of the altar, the unconsecrated bread & wine, placement of cups, plates and linens, this Mass requires the use of the Easter Candle, incense, the funeral pall, and holy water among other things ... all which are prepared by the sacristan. If you would like to be part of this team, contact the parish office at 921-7527.

Decorating Committee

The function of this committee is to study, design and set up appropriate decorations to enhance worship in the Church. Often, decorations are essential for special liturgical celebrations. They can range from traditional to contemporary depending on the nature of the liturgy. Contact the parish office at 921-7527 if you can assist during the liturgical holidays.
